Badacey

description Badacey Overview

Badacey is a split-pot poker game that combines Badugi with ace-to-five lowball. Players draw cards while seeking two different qualifying results: the best Badugi hand and the best conventional ace-to-five low hand. The pot is divided between those results, so a player may win one half, both halves, or neither depending on the final hands.

help Badacey FAQ

What two poker games does Badacey combine?

Badacey combines Badugi with Ace-to-Five lowball. The pot is split between the best qualifying Badugi hand and the best five-card lowball hand.

How can a player win the whole Badacey pot?

A player wins the whole pot by taking both halves at showdown, a result called a scoop. One half is judged by Badugi rules and the other by Ace-to-Five lowball rules.

What makes a good Badugi hand in Badacey?

A qualifying Badugi uses up to four cards with different ranks and different suits, with the ace playing low. A strong example is a rainbow A-2-3-4 combination.

How do the draws work in Badacey?

In the common five-card triple-draw version, players receive five cards and may draw three times. They can discard cards to improve either the Badugi side, the Ace-to-Five side, or both.
