help Momen FAQ
Which browsers does the Momen annotation extension support?
Momen is available for both Chrome and Firefox as an open-source extension. That covers the two main browser ecosystems most collaborative research teams work in.
How does Momen's real-time collaboration work?
Multiple users can annotate and discuss the same web pages simultaneously, so notes and comments appear live while the team browses. This makes it suited to shared research or group projects where context matters.
Is Momen free to use?
Yes, as an open-source project the extension itself is free. Collaborators generally each need the extension installed to participate in the shared annotations.
How is Momen different from Hypothesis for web annotation?
Hypothesis is the long-established web annotation tool focused on persistent public/private layer annotation, while Momen emphasizes real-time collaborative discussion on pages as a group. Momen is closer to a shared commenting session than a permanent annotation archive.
