help NetShade FAQ
Is NetShade a VPN service or a Mac proxy application?
NetShade is best known as a privacy application for macOS and iOS that can connect through VPN and proxy servers. It should not be confused with specialized operational-security platforms marketed specifically to journalists or human-rights organizations.
Can NetShade use a proxy server that I already have?
Yes. A defining feature of NetShade is the ability to use supported proxy configurations in addition to any servers supplied through its own service.
Does NetShade protect applications outside the web browser?
A VPN connection can route broader device traffic, while a proxy protects only traffic configured to use that proxy. Users should verify which mode is active before assuming that email, messaging, or other applications are covered.
