help Syncospace FAQ
Is Syncospace based on Nextcloud?
Yes, Syncospace is described as a cloud-storage service built on Nextcloud. That means its collaboration and file-sync experience is related to the open-source Nextcloud ecosystem, although Syncospace's exact hosting and support terms are separate.
Can I self-host my files with Syncospace?
The service emphasizes self-hosting options, allowing users to keep data on servers they control. Self-hosting gives more control but also makes you responsible for server security, backups, updates, and recovery.
Does Syncospace provide end-to-end encryption?
The product description says it supports end-to-end encryption. Verify which folders, devices, and collaboration features use that protection because encryption behavior can differ between client-side, server-side, and shared-file workflows.
How is Syncospace different from Google Drive?
Syncospace focuses on privacy, self-hosting, and control over where data is stored, while Google Drive is a managed cloud service with Google's infrastructure and account system. Syncospace may be a better fit for users who want Nextcloud compatibility, but self-hosting requires more technical upkeep.
