help USA Network FAQ
When did USA Network start broadcasting, and what kind of channel is it?
USA Network began broadcasting in 1977 as an American basic cable channel. Its mix included sports, films, syndicated programs, and original series, rather than only scripted dramas.
Was Mr. Robot a USA Network original, and who made it?
Mr. Robot was a USA Network original created by Sam Esmail, with Rami Malek as Elliot and Christian Slater as Mr. Robot. It ran for four seasons from 2015 to 2019 and follows F Society's campaign against Evil Corp.
Why are Suits and Burn Notice central to USA Network's classic lineup?
Suits centers on lawyer Harvey Specter, played by Gabriel Macht, while Burn Notice follows burned CIA operative Michael Westen, played by Jeffrey Donovan. Those character-led shows helped define USA's earlier original-programming identity alongside Psych and White Collar, as reflected in [USA's classics archive](https://www.usanetwork.com/usa-insider/topic/usa-classics).
Is USA Network the same channel as NBC?
No. USA Network is a basic cable channel and NBC is a broadcast network, so they are different channels with different distribution roles, even though USA's cable identity also dates to 1977.
