Boost reduces your credit score by showing you have more debt because of your monthly utility bills. If you remove Boost, Experian retaliates by reducing your score one point for each utility bill removed.
Experian provides updates on scores and reports, alerting me to changes. Emails offering me about car insurance are a little annoying. I stay with the free membership. It offers more but some credit cards give me access to the others.
They always notify me of any questionable hits on my credit report. They have helped me with identity theft and fraudulent charges and accounts, in additional to notifying me about all of the people I have to contact with the appropriate resources.. Have been efficient. I don't wait on hold forever waiting for them to answer.. They are always very friendly and helpful.
I absolutely love Experian! The information that Experian provides helps to really keep you on track with your credit building progress. My credit rating has gone from the 600's to the 700's in the past year.
They offer complete details on my credit report, offer ideas how to improve my credit and what to look for that would hurt my credit, and available to answer my questions if any arise. By following many of their ideas and suggestions I have been able to stay on top of my credit and keep it at an acceptable level.
I signed up, linked my account. I have 3-5 aged accounts that could have been included in the boost. They found one account and raised my score by 2 points. Not a fan. In addition, for some reason my account was kicked our and they want me to keep linking. Not a fan.
I I called in to find out why my credit score dropped 18 points and was repeatedly hung up on without any reason why it had dropped but nothing had changed. There was no reason for a drop at all. One person even told me they didn't know why it dropped 18.4. Shouldn't have are. "You told me to hold on", he never came back. After speaking with five reps they all couldn't explain why my score drop. I asked him to please look at the last 3 months and they can see there has been no change. Still did not answer my question.
Experian recommended the credit card to build credit- so I accepted it; only to have it for at least 2 years, paying annual and monthly fees and high interest- and no positive reporting to my credit score. When I requested an increase in credit they want to charge 20% per $100. The card only had a limit of $500. A rip off company and Experian is in with the deception.
