KAI KF-21 Boramae

The KAI KF-21 Boramae is a South Korean-led 4.5-generation fighter with 'stealthy' characteristics, representing a major technological leap for its developers. Currently in flight testing, Block I aircraft will carry weapons externally, while planned Block II variants will feature internal weapons bays for reduced radar cross-section. It incorporates advanced avionics, an AESA radar, and infrared search-and-track. As an ambitious program to create a capable, cost-effective alternative to the F-35 for South Korea and Indonesia, the KF-21 is a highly promising emerging platform that bridges the gap between legacy and full 5th-generation fighters.
