The Leopard 2A7V, manufactured by Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW), represents the zenith of evolutionary Western tank design and is arguably the world's premier all-round main battle tank for the 2020s. Building upon the legendary Leopard 2 chassis, the A7V variant incorporates lessons from decades of operational use and combat experience in Afghanistan and Syria. Its key upgrade is the modular, third-generation composite armor, which can be tailored to specific threat levels and includes enhanced side protection and a mine protection kit. The tank fields the renowned Rheinmetall L55 120mm smoothbore gun, firing the latest DM63 APFSDS and programmable DM11 HE rounds.
