TAI T929 ATAK 2

The Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) T929 ATAK 2 is an ambitious, indigenously developed heavy attack helicopter currently in development. Building on the success of the lighter T129 ATAK, the T929 is a significant leap in size, power, and capability, designed to compete directly with the Apache and Mi-28. It is powered by twin Ukrainian Motor Sich engines (with plans for domestic alternatives) and features a five-blade main rotor, heavy armor, and a large payload capacity for Turkish-made munitions like the UMTAS and CIRIT missiles. The cockpit incorporates advanced avionics and displays developed domestically. As a program, it represents Turkey's strategic push for defense self-sufficiency.
