help Cholula Mexicali Wing Sauce FAQ

What is Cholula Mexicali Wing Sauce used for?

It is formulated specifically for chicken wings, so it is meant to coat or season wings rather than act only as a table hot sauce. The sauce combines Cholula's chili-based heat with additional Mexicali-inspired flavoring.

Where does the Cholula name come from?

The brand is named after Cholula, a city in Puebla, Mexico. That place name is part of the product's Mexican identity, while the Mexicali Wing formula is the specific wing-sauce variant.

Is Mexicali Wing Sauce the same as regular Cholula?

No, it keeps Cholula's characteristic chili heat but adds flavorings designed for a wing-sauce profile. Regular Cholula is the broader brand sauce, while Mexicali Wing is a recipe made for chicken wings.

What kind of heat should I expect from it?

Expect a chili-based hot-sauce heat rather than a completely mild barbecue glaze. The exact intensity can vary by serving amount, but the product's defining base is Cholula's characteristic chili flavor.
