help Suncoast Melee FAQ

What kind of bat is the Suncoast Melee?

The Suncoast Melee is a senior slowpitch softball bat designed for the slower pitching style and larger ball used in that sport. It is not a fastpitch or standard baseball bat.

Why does the Suncoast Melee have an ultra-thin handle?

The smaller handle is intended to increase barrel whip while keeping the bat controllable through the hitting zone. Suncoast calls this type of design a Max Speed Handle on several Melee models.

How large is the Melee barrel?

Melee models vary, but recent Suncoast versions include 12-inch and 13-inch barrel options. The exact barrel length, load, and weight should be checked against the model code printed on the bat.

Which leagues can a Suncoast Melee be used in?

Some Melee models carry senior-softball approvals such as SSUSA and ISA. Certification is model-specific, so check the stamp and the rules of the league before using the bat in competition.
