description Netgear Orbi RBKE9600 Overview

This model represents a high-end, dedicated mesh solution focusing heavily on maximizing wired backhaul capacity. It is built for the largest, most complex properties where maintaining multi-gigabit speeds across multiple floors is the absolute top priority. While it might not have the newest Wi-Fi 7 features, its sheer power and focus on robust physical connectivity make it a reliable workhorse for massive homes that need consistent, high-speed backbone infrastructure.

help Netgear Orbi RBKE9600 FAQ

Is the Netgear Orbi RBKE9600 a Wi-Fi 7 system?

No. The RBKE960 series is a high-end Wi-Fi 6E Orbi platform, not a Wi-Fi 7 router. Wi-Fi 7 features such as Multi-Link Operation require newer hardware.

How many bands does the Orbi RBKE9600 use?

The RBKE960 series is a tri-band Wi-Fi 6E mesh system using 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz radio bands. The 6 GHz band can provide a cleaner backhaul or client connection when compatible devices are nearby.

Does the Orbi RBKE9600 support wired backhaul?

Yes. Orbi units include multi-gigabit Ethernet ports, allowing a wired connection between router and satellites. Wired backhaul is useful in large homes where wireless satellite links are weakened by floors or walls.

Who should consider the RBKE9600 instead of a cheaper Orbi?

It is aimed at large homes and networks with many devices, fast internet, or multi-gigabit wired links. A cheaper dual-band mesh system may be enough for a smaller apartment or a basic broadband plan.
