help Zero Tester FAQ

What is the anime Zero Tester about?

A string of space accidents turns out to be the work of the Armanoid aliens, who are plotting to conquer Earth. Professor Tachibana assembles a defense team at the Future Science Invention Center, preparing five state-of-the-art vehicles for pilots including Shin, Go, Lisa, and Captain Kenmotsu.

When was Zero Tester made?

It's a mid-1970s Japanese series, first airing around 1973. That places it in the same era as super-robot hits like Mazinger Z (1972) and just before Space Battleship Yamato (1974) reshaped space anime.

Is Zero Tester a mecha show?

It leans on the 1970s sci-fi formula of a science institute defending Earth with advanced vehicles, more in the space-defense mold than the giant-robot mold. The five vehicles prepared by Professor Tachibana are the centerpiece of the team's response to the Armanoid threat.
