About Lunoo
An honest, AI-powered ranking of almost anything worth comparing.
Lunoo ranks things. Software, apps, hardware, services, cities, restaurants, foods, books, movies, TV, video games, vehicles, landmarks — if there's more than one of it and people pick between them, it belongs on Lunoo. The goal is a fair, transparent comparison so you can pick what actually fits instead of trusting whichever brand has the biggest ad budget.
How rankings are produced
Lunoo's rankings come out of an automated pipeline, not a human editorial team. The pipeline runs head-to-head comparisons between items in the same niche, judged by a frontier LLM (GLM‑4.6), and aggregates the verdicts into an Elo-style rating that reflects which item wins when placed directly against its peers. New comparisons run continuously, so the ranking on a busy niche shifts as evidence accumulates.
Every new item also passes through a hallucination gatekeeper (a separate LLM) that checks whether the item is a real product, place, or work — with a working link, a plausible description, and a niche it actually fits. Items that fail the check stay in draft and never reach a /best/ page. The classifier and the gatekeeper are both code, not humans, but the design goal is the same: don't ship anything obviously wrong.
How we score
Each item's score is derived from its Elo rating in head-to-head comparisons against other items in the same niche. We don't compute a number from a weighted blend of feature checklists or feature coverage; we let the comparison verdicts decide, and the score is the rating those verdicts produce. Scores are not user reviews. When users leave reviews, we surface them separately on the item page; only those count as user-generated ratings. We don't display synthetic ratings on category or comparison pages.
How we make money
Some outbound links on Lunoo are affiliate links, meaning we may earn a small commission if you buy through them. The ranking is computed from comparison evidence with no knowledge of which items have affiliate programs, so the commission can't move the order. We're still adding affiliate partners; the current state is documented on our Affiliate Disclosure page.
