Rubasse vs Prase

Rubasse is a variety of rock crystal quartz containing dispersed red hematite or other iron oxide inclusions. These inclusions give the otherwise colorless quartz a reddish appearance, sometimes producing patterns or areas of red coloration within the crystal. Rubasse has historical interest as an inexpensive ruby simulant and is collected primarily as an inclusion-bearing quartz variety.

Prase is an opaque, leek-green variety of quartz whose color comes from inclusions, commonly chlorite or actinolite.
