Fresh Air

Fresh Air is both: it is a long-running public radio interview show from WHYY in Philadelphia and is also distributed as an NPR podcast. The show began locally in 1975 and became a daily national NPR program in 1987.

Terry Gross is the signature host and has been connected with the show since 1975. Tonya Mosley later joined as a co-host, giving the program more than one regular interviewer.

Fresh Air focuses on arts, culture, journalism, politics, and public life, with guests such as actors, novelists, musicians, historians, and reporters. Terry Gross is especially known for long-form interviews built around close reading of a guest's work.
