description Thinsulate Overview
Thinsulate is a family of synthetic insulation materials developed by 3M and introduced commercially in 1979. It uses fine fibers to trap insulating air while allowing products to remain relatively thin, and different versions are made for particular clothing and equipment applications. The material is widely used in gloves, footwear, hats, outerwear, and other products intended to reduce heat loss without the bulk associated with some traditional insulating fills.
