Serene

Built by Fincantieri and delivered in 2011, the 134-meter Serene is a large motor yacht with exterior design by Espen Øino and interiors by Reymond Langton Design. Its facilities include a seawater swimming pool, helicopter accommodation, and provision for a submarine. These features extend its role beyond cruising and entertaining by supporting several ways to move between the yacht and its surroundings. A winter garden and extensive interior spaces contribute to its private residential character.

Public descriptions also associate the furnishings with materials such as marble and onyx. Serene was originally commissioned by a Russian businessman, and reports of a later charter by Bill Gates brought further public attention. Its defining traits are the combination of scale, aviation facilities, and underwater exploration equipment. Those amenities do not alone establish suitability for polar operations.
