help Bestione FAQ

Which cards are used for Bestione?

The listed rules specify a 40-card Italian-suited deck. A full 52-card poker deck is therefore not the standard setup described for this regional game.

What makes the bestione card different from an ordinary trump?

The bestione is the highest trump in the game. It also carries special scoring weight, so its importance is not limited to winning a trick.

Is Bestione related to Briscola?

Both games use Italian-suited cards and trump-based trick play, so Briscola is a useful reference point. Bestione is distinct because the named bestione has extra scoring importance in the listed rules.

Does Bestione have one universal scoring table?

The catalog description says that the bestione has special scoring weight but does not give a fixed point value. Players should confirm the local rules before assigning the card a particular number.
