description Silicon Power PC60 Overview

The Silicon Power PC60 is a compact portable solid-state drive, not a desktop hard-drive enclosure. It connects through a USB-C port and uses a textured square casing with a recessed opening that can help secure or carry the drive. Offered in multiple storage capacities, it is intended for transferring and backing up files across compatible computers and other devices while remaining small enough for regular travel.

help Silicon Power PC60 FAQ

Is the Silicon Power PC60 an SSD or a hard drive?

It is a portable solid-state drive, not a spinning HDD. That means no moving parts, better shock resistance, and faster transfer speeds than comparably priced portable hard drives.

How fast is the Silicon Power PC60?

It connects via USB-C over USB 3.2 Gen 1 and delivers read speeds of roughly 500 to 550 MB/s, in line with other SATA-based portable SSDs. It will not match NVMe drives with USB 3.2 Gen 2 speeds, but it far exceeds any portable hard drive.

What capacities does the PC60 come in?

It is commonly sold in 480GB, 1TB, and 2TB capacities. The textured square casing with its recessed opening also gives it a distinctive look and a way to carry or secure the drive.

Does the Silicon Power PC60 work with phones and game consoles?

Thanks to its USB-C interface, it works with Android phones that support USB OTG storage as well as PlayStation and Xbox consoles for media and expanded game storage. Just confirm your device supports external drives over USB-C or use the appropriate adapter.
