32 Pomona

description 32 Pomona Overview

32 Pomona is a main-belt asteroid discovered by Hermann Goldschmidt in 1854. Its name comes from Pomona, the Roman goddess associated with fruit trees, gardens, and orchards. Like other main-belt asteroids, it travels around the Sun in the region between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter. Its classification and historical discovery place it among the nineteenth-century asteroids named from classical mythology.
