Above & Beyond - Tri-State

Tri-State is the debut studio album by the British trance group Above & Beyond, released in 2006 under their own Anjunabeats label. The album was a critical and commercial success, helping to establish their long-form album identity beyond standard club singles. It is widely considered a classic of the mid-2000s progressive trance era.

The album features several massive trance anthems, most notably Air For Life, which was a collaboration with fellow DJ Andy Moor. Other highly popular tracks include the title track Tri-State, Alone Tonight, and Can't Sleep. These tracks are known for their emotional depth, soaring synths, and the ethereal vocals of Zoë Johnston and Richard Bedford.

While not a direct sequel, Above & Beyond followed up Tri-State with their highly successful second studio album, Sirens of the Sea, released in 2008. However, Sirens of the Sea was released under their side-project moniker, Above & Beyond pres. OceanLab. Their next official album strictly as Above & Beyond was Group Therapy, which didn't drop until 2011.

Tri-State was released on Anjunabeats, the highly influential record label founded by the members of Above & Beyond themselves. The label became synonymous with the uplifting and progressive trance movement of the 2000s. Releasing their debut album on their own imprint gave them complete creative control over the final sound.
