description Abus GameChanger 2.0 Overview

Road racing shapes the ABUS GameChanger 2.0, a cycling helmet developed around aerodynamic performance and ventilation. Its streamlined form addresses airflow around the rider's head, while Forced Air Cooling is intended to direct air through the helmet. These priorities make it relevant to road racers and sportive riders who spend long periods riding at speed. The model is offered in versions with different protection features, so MIPS should not be assumed from the GameChanger 2.0 name alone.

The separately identified MIPS version includes a system intended to address rotational motion in certain angled impacts. Fit remains important to comfort and correct use, and no helmet guarantees protection from concussion. The ABUS MIPS product listing identifies that variant explicitly.

help Abus GameChanger 2.0 FAQ

Does the Abus GameChanger 2.0 come with MIPS technology?

Yes, the Abus GameChanger 2.0 is equipped with Multi-Directional Impact Protection System (MIPS) technology to reduce rotational forces during a crash. This safety feature allows the helmet to slide slightly relative to the head upon angled impact, protecting the brain. It is a crucial feature for a high-end road cycling helmet designed for high-speed safety.

How does the Forced Air Cooling system work on the Abus GameChanger 2.0?

The Abus GameChanger 2.0 utilizes Forced Air Cooling technology that relies on a highly engineered, multi-channel ventilation system. As you ride, air is forced directly through the front intakes and channeled over your head to dissipate heat. This design provides exceptional airflow, keeping the rider cool during intense physical exertion.

Can the Abus GameChanger 2.0 be used with a ponytail?

Yes, Abus specifically designs many of their high-end helmets, including the GameChanger 2.0, to be highly ponytail compatible. The rear adjustment system, known as the Zoom Ace adjustment wheel, is designed to sit deep on the back of the head. This allows riders with long hair to comfortably and securely fit a ponytail through the back of the retention system.

How much does the Abus GameChanger 2.0 helmet weigh?

The Abus GameChanger 2.0 is an aerodynamic road cycling helmet that is designed to be exceptionally lightweight, generally weighing around 250 grams depending on the shell size. This extremely low weight helps reduce neck fatigue during long, grueling rides. Despite being light, it does not sacrifice structural integrity or safety ratings.
