When was the Acorn BBC Master Compact released?
The BBC Master Compact was released in 1986 as a smaller, less expandable member of Acorn's BBC Master range. It was a late 8-bit Acorn computer, not a 68000-based desktop.
What processor does the BBC Master Compact use?
The Master Compact uses an 8-bit 65C12 processor, related to the 6502 family used in earlier BBC computers. Its design is therefore much closer to the BBC Master than to Acorn's later 32-bit Archimedes machines.
Did the BBC Master Compact have a built-in disk drive?
Yes. The compact case included an internal 3.5-inch floppy disk drive and used Acorn's Advanced Disc Filing System, or ADFS.
