description Albert-Richter-Radstadion Overview
The Radstadion Köln, whose track was officially called the Albert-Richter-Bahn, was a velodrome in Cologne's Müngersdorf district opened in 1996. Its partly covered 250-metre track was made of wood, designed by the Schürmann architectural practice, and used for the German track championships in its opening year. The facility was partly demolished in 2022 as part of plans for a new Albert-Richter-Velodrom; the name honors Cologne cyclist and 1932 amateur sprint world champion Albert Richter.
