Amazon Freevee

Amazon Freevee is a completely free, ad-supported streaming service that does not require an Amazon Prime membership. Anyone with a standard Amazon account can download the app or access it via the web to watch movies and shows. The trade-off is that viewers will see commercial interruptions during their programming, similar to traditional broadcast television.

Amazon Freevee has produced several popular original series, most notably the courtroom comedy 'Jury Duty' starring James Marsden. It is also home to the spinoff series 'Bosch: Legacy,' continuing the story of the popular Prime Video detective show. These originals are used to draw viewers into the free ecosystem.

Freevee does allow users to download content for offline viewing, but there is a catch. To download movies and shows without a Wi-Fi connection, you actually need to use the Amazon Prime Video app, where Freevee content is integrated. You cannot download content directly within the standalone Freevee app itself.

Unlike Pluto TV, which focuses heavily on continuous, linear streaming channels, Amazon Freevee leans more into an on-demand library similar to Tubi. Freevee also benefits from deep integration with Amazon's massive licensing catalog and premium original content. However, Tubi generally offers a much larger total volume of movies, including many obscure, B-movie titles.
