An Innocent Man is a 1989 American prison crime drama directed by Peter Yates. Tom Selleck plays Jimmie Rainwood, an ordinary aerospace engineer who is falsely implicated by corrupt police officers and sent to prison. The film follows his adjustment to the prison system, the violence and coercion he encounters there, and his later effort to confront the officers responsible. It combines a wrongful-conviction premise with a prison-survival and revenge narrative.
