description Apple iPhone Overview
Introduced in 2007, Apple's iPhone developed into a family of touchscreen smartphones that combines mobile communication with internet access, digital photography and portable media playback. Its multi-touch interface made direct interaction with on-screen content central to the experience, supported by a restrained physical design that helped influence later smartphones and other consumer devices. The range runs Apple's iOS software and supports downloadable applications within an ecosystem largely controlled by Apple. Hardware and software are designed together, giving the family a recognizable approach to navigation and everyday tasks even as individual models change.
It suits people who value that integrated approach and readers interested in the shift from phones built around physical keypads to handheld computers organized around touch and applications.
