AquaClear Cast Acrylic

AquaClear Cast Acrylic is a moisture-resistant plastic sheet intended for aquatic construction and filtration-related projects. It can be cut and fabricated for custom aquarium components, covers, and structural panels when the thickness is suitable.

Its intended use is aquarium and aquatic-system construction, but safety also depends on thickness, bonding materials, cleaning chemicals, and the finished design. The manufacturer’s material specification should be checked before using it with livestock.

Cast acrylic is made by casting liquid acrylic between sheets, while extruded acrylic is continuously produced through a die. Cast sheet is often preferred for fabrication and engraving because it machines differently and can have more consistent properties.

Acrylic sheet can generally be drilled with suitable plastic-working tools and bonded with acrylic cement. Poor bit geometry, excess heat, or forcing the tool can crack the sheet, so test cuts and proper support are important.
