The multi-stage filtration system in the AquaPure Pro Pitcher generally requires a replacement filter every two to three months, depending on your daily water consumption. The proprietary combination of the ceramic filter, pre-filter, and activated carbon filter is rated to purify roughly 100 to 150 gallons of water. An indicator on the lid typically alerts you when it is time for a swap.

While the activated carbon and ceramic filters excel at removing chlorine, sediment, heavy metals, and odors, they are designed to leave beneficial trace minerals like calcium and magnesium in the water. This ensures the water tastes exceptionally clean and refreshing without becoming entirely demineralized like reverse osmosis systems. The pore size of the ceramic filter specifically targets larger contaminants.

Because the AquaPure Pro Pitcher pushes water through a dense pre-filter, a ceramic filter, and an activated carbon filter, the filtration process is slower than standard pitchers. It typically takes about 10 to 15 minutes for the upper reservoir to completely filter down into the pitcher. This slower flow rate is necessary to properly absorb heavy metals and contaminants.

The AquaPure Pro Pitcher features a relatively slim profile designed to fit comfortably on the shelf of a standard refrigerator door. However, because the multi-stage filter apparatus sits inside the upper reservoir, the pitcher is slightly taller and bulkier than basic Brita models. You should measure your fridge door clearance to ensure it fits without hitting the shelving brackets.
