Arcade Spirits

Arcade Spirits is a 2019 romantic visual novel set in an alternate timeline where the 1983 video-game crash never happened. The player character takes a job at the Funplex arcade and builds relationships while helping keep the business alive.

It is primarily a story-driven dating-sim visual novel, not a collection of playable arcade cabinets. Choices affect dialogue, relationships, and routes, while the arcade setting supplies the characters and stakes for the narrative.

The original release is available for Windows, macOS, and Linux, with console versions for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Fiction Factory Games developed the title, and PQube handled its publishing for the wider commercial release.

The Funplex is the neighborhood arcade where the player works and meets the main cast. It represents the alternate-history idea that arcades remained culturally important because the 1983 crash never occurred.
