Bajrangi Bhaijaan

The young girl, known as Munni in the film, is portrayed by child actress Harshaali Malhotra in her feature film debut. Her performance as the mute Pakistani girl separated from her family became the emotional heart of the film and earned her widespread critical praise across India.

The film was directed by Kabir Khan, who previously helmed Kabul Express (2006) and Ek Tha Tiger (2012), the latter also starring Salman Khan. Khan is known for blending cross-border themes and real-world geopolitical contexts into mainstream Bollywood narratives.

While not a direct adaptation, the film's premise was reportedly inspired by real incidents involving Indian citizens helping lost Pakistani nationals return home. Screenwriter K. Vijayendra Prasad, who also wrote Baahubali, developed the story as a fictional narrative emphasizing compassion across the India-Pakistan border.

Bajrangi Bhaijaan was one of the highest-grossing Indian films of all time upon its 2015 release, earning over 900 crore rupees worldwide during its theatrical run. The film was a major commercial success domestically and also performed exceptionally well in international markets, particularly in China where it released later.
