Bawdsey Bank

description Bawdsey Bank Overview

Bawdsey Bank is a sandbank in the North Sea off Bawdsey on the Suffolk coast of England. It lies seaward of Bawdsey Manor, the estate associated with Robert Watson-Watt's work on radar and with Britain's first operational radar research station, established there in 1937. The name therefore identifies an offshore coastal feature near an important site in the early history of radar.
