description Beachley Barracks Overview
Beachley Barracks is a British Army base at Beachley Point in Gloucestershire, near Chepstow, between the Rivers Severn and Wye. The site became an Army technical and apprentice training establishment in 1924, later known as the Army Apprentices College, which operated there until 1994. It remains a military installation and is the home of 1st Battalion, The Rifles, while its apprentice-school history makes it relevant to military and local-history research.
