This means you can get a full-body workout without needing to set up separate dumbbells. It uses specialized cables or handles to create tension as you stride.

Modern Bowflex treadmills are designed to pair seamlessly with the JRNY digital fitness platform, which offers adaptive workouts and virtual coaching. The JRNY app can automatically adjust your treadmill's speed and incline based on your fitness level. Note that a subscription is usually required to access the full library of content.

The incline adjustment is highly effective for building leg strength while running, often reaching up to a 15% grade depending on the exact model year. This steep incline simulates intense hill climbing and significantly increases calorie burn. You can adjust these settings manually or let the JRNY app control them during a programmed workout.

Bowflex designs many of their modern treadmills with a SoftDrop folding mechanism to help save floor space when the machine is not in use. You can lift the walking deck vertically to store it flush against a wall. However, because of the heavy-duty frame and motor, it is still quite heavy to move once folded.
