Brisingr

description Brisingr Overview

Brisingr is the third novel in Christopher Paolini's Inheritance Cycle, published on September 20, 2008 by Alfred A. Knopf Books for Young Readers. The title, meaning 'fire' in the Ancient Language used throughout the series, reflects the protagonist Eragon's growing magical abilities. The novel continues the story of Eragon and his dragon Saphira as they fight against the evil king Galbatorix alongside the Varden rebellion.

Originally intended to conclude the trilogy, Paolini expanded the series to four books due to the growing complexity of the narrative.
