Brooklyn Botanic Garden

Cherry blossom season at Brooklyn Botanic Garden typically peaks from late March through mid-April, depending on weather conditions each year. The garden hosts its annual Sakura Matsuri cherry blossom festival during peak bloom, celebrating Japanese culture alongside the flowering trees on the Cherry Esplanade.

The Brooklyn Botanic Garden is accessible via the 2 and 3 trains to Eastern Parkway–Brooklyn Museum station, or the B and Q trains to Prospect Park station. The main entrance is located at 990 Washington Avenue, adjacent to the Brooklyn Museum and Prospect Park.

Brooklyn Botanic Garden offers free admission during designated weekdays in the winter months, typically from November through February. Members always receive free entry, and the garden also hosts special community free days throughout the year, though regular adult admission is normally charged during peak seasons.

The garden features a historic Japanese Hill-and-Pond Garden, one of the oldest of its kind in an American public garden, along with a Cranberry Bog and the Steinhardt Conservatory. The Rose Garden, which peaks in June, and the Fragrance Garden designed for tactile and olfactory exploration, are also major attractions across the 50-plus-acre grounds.
