description Bros Overview
Billy Eichner plays a New York museum executive whose resistance to commitment becomes harder to maintain after he meets a lawyer played by Luke Macfarlane in Bros. Released in 2022, the American romantic comedy was directed by Nicholas Stoller, who wrote the screenplay with Eichner. The central relationship develops through mismatched expectations, with each man carrying ideas about independence and the kind of partner he wants to be. Distributed by Universal Pictures, the film places gay characters at the center of a familiar major-studio romantic-comedy structure.
Its humor draws on dating behavior and the pressures of presenting a confident public identity while admitting private needs. It suits viewers interested in adult LGBTQ+ romance with pointed comedy. The museum storyline also gives the personal relationship a wider context, connecting questions of recognition in public life with vulnerability between partners.
