Bulova Precisionist

The Bulova Precisionist utilizes a proprietary 262kHz tri-symetron crystal, making it significantly more accurate than standard quartz watches. It achieves precision within approximately ±10 seconds per year, compared to the ±15 seconds per month of standard quartz.

Because the proprietary movement oscillates at a very high frequency of 262 kilohertz, the second hand sweeps incredibly smoothly, resembling an automatic watch. This contrasts sharply with the distinct ticking motion of traditional Bulova watches.

The Precisionist line typically uses a high-drain silver oxide battery to power the high-frequency movement. Due to the energy demands of the sweeping seconds hand, the battery generally lasts about two to three years before needing replacement.

Most Bulova Precisionist models feature a water resistance rating of 300 meters, making them highly capable dive watches. However, you should always verify the specific model's depth rating on the case back before using it for professional scuba diving.
