Cairo Aquarium Garden, also called the Fish Garden or Aquarium Grotto Garden, is a public garden and aquarium complex in the Zamalek district of Cairo on Gezira Island. Khedive Ismail created the garden in 1867, and aquariums were added to its grotto structures before the site opened to the public on 21 November 1902. Egyptian government information records displays of Nile fish, a long closure for repairs beginning in 1965, and a reopening in 1983.
