Calocidaris micans is a marine sea urchin in the family Cidaridae, within the order Cidaroida. Like other cidaroids, it has a rigid test and prominent primary spines, features used in identifying members of the group. The species belongs to the genus Calocidaris and was described by the Danish zoologist Ole Theodor Jensen Mortensen in 1903. It is chiefly of interest to marine zoologists and taxonomists working with echinoderm classification.
