description Camp Fuji Overview

Camp Fuji is a United States Marine Corps training installation near Gotemba in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan, at the southeastern base of Mount Fuji. It is used for field exercises, live-fire training, maneuver practice, and combined-arms instruction. The facility supports Marines and other United States personnel operating in Japan, and it can also be used during exercises involving Japanese defense forces. It is a training site rather than a major permanent garrison.
