Captain Scarlet is the principal character of Gerry and Sylvia Anderson's British television series Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons, first broadcast by ITV from 1967 to 1968. An officer of the international security organization Spectrum, he is killed and reconstructed by the alien Mysterons but escapes their control. The reconstruction leaves him virtually indestructible, allowing him to recover from otherwise fatal injuries while opposing Mysteron threats.
