Caudwell's Mill

Caudwell's Mill is a historic Grade II listed watermill located in Rowsley, Derbyshire, England. The mill sits along the banks of the River Wye. It remains a prominent industrial heritage site in the East Midlands region.

While a mill has existed on the site since at least 1614, the current structure was established by John Caudwell in 1874. The Caudwell family operated the facility for several generations. The building represents a prime example of Victorian-era industrial engineering.

In the late 19th century, the mill was converted from traditional stone grinding to roller flour milling. This modernization allowed the mill to produce finer, whiter flour on a massive scale. It was one of the first mills in the area to adopt this innovative steam and water-powered technology.
