Ceüse

Ceüse is a high-altitude limestone mountain cliff in France recognized globally for its exceptional sport climbing routes. It is widely considered one of the premier climbing crags in the world.

Ceüse is home to the historic route called "Realization" (also known as Biographie), which was the first route in the world to receive a 9a+ (5.15a) grade. It was famously redpointed by American climber Chris Sharma in 2001.

The cliff is located in the Hautes-Alpes department of southern France, near the town of Gap. It sits at a high altitude, making it a popular summer destination for climbers looking to escape the heat.

Reaching the climbing routes at Ceüse requires a grueling hike of about an hour straight uphill through alpine meadows. Climbers often start their approach early in the morning to avoid the intense afternoon sun.
