Cirque du Soleil: Kurios

Kurios runs approximately 130 minutes including a 20-25 minute intermission. The show follows the touring Cirque du Soleil format of two acts separated by a break, similar to other big-top productions like OVO and Amaluna.

Set in the late 19th century, Kurios tells the story of an inventor named the Seeker whose world is turned upside down when an alternate reality called the Beautiful World invades his workshop. The show blends steampunk aesthetics with acrobatic acts including a Contortion act on mechanical hands and an aerial straps performance.

Kurios was directed by Michel Laprise, who previously worked on Cirque du Soleil's Kooza and later directed the 2019 touring show Alegría: In a New Light. The show premiered in Montreal in 2014 under the big top before beginning its international tour.

One of Kurios's signature sequences features an entire dinner table suspended upside down from the ceiling, with performers appearing to walk on the underside of the table as if defying gravity. This 'Invisible World' sequence is one of the most technically ambitious acts in the show and was specifically developed for Kurios.
