Can I play Civilization V on Xbox Series X?

No, Civilization V was released for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux, not Xbox consoles. On Xbox Series X, the console Civilization options are later entries such as Civilization VI or Civilization VII.

What made Civilization V different from Civilization IV?

Civilization V moved the series to hexagonal tiles and removed the old unit-stacking style of combat. Firaxis released it for Windows in September 2010, and those combat changes shaped the series afterward.
