Clerks II

Clerks II was released in 2006, serving as a highly anticipated sequel to the 1994 cult indie hit Clerks. Written and directed by Kevin Smith, the film is set exactly ten years after the events of the original black-and-white movie. It continues the comedic exploits of the characters within Smith's fictional View Askewniverse.

The story follows Dante Hicks and Randal Graves as they are forced to find new jobs at a fictional fast-food restaurant called Mooby's after a fire destroys their Quick Stop convenience store. Dante, now engaged, is preparing to move to Florida, leaving his best friend Randal behind. The movie explores their hilarious attempts to navigate adulthood, relationships, and changing circumstances.

The film brings back original stars Brian O'Halloran as Dante Hicks and Jeff Anderson as Randal Graves to reprise their iconic roles. It also features returning View Askewniverse favorites like Jason Mewes and Kevin Smith as Jay and Silent Bob. New additions to the cast include Rosario Dawson as Becky Scott and Trevor Fehrman as Elias.

Unlike the original Clerks, which was famously shot entirely in black-and-white due to budget constraints, Clerks II was shot primarily in color. Kevin Smith made this visual transition to update the world of the characters and fit the brighter, corporate environment of Mooby's fast-food restaurant. However, the sharp, crude, dialogue-heavy comedy style of the original film remains fully intact.
