What is the difference between Full and Full strict SSL in Cloudflare?
Full mode encrypts traffic to the origin but does not require a fully trusted origin certificate. Full strict requires a valid certificate on the origin, which is the safer setting for a normal production website.
Why can Cloudflare Flexible SSL cause redirect loops?
Flexible SSL uses HTTPS between the visitor and Cloudflare but HTTP from Cloudflare to the origin. If the origin also forces HTTPS, WordPress, Laravel, or nginx can get stuck redirecting because each side sees a different scheme.
Does Cloudflare SSL replace an origin certificate?
No, not for the strongest setup. A production site should still use an origin certificate, such as a Cloudflare Origin CA certificate or Let's Encrypt, then run Cloudflare in Full strict mode.
