Comet Cleanser with Bleach is highly effective against common household bacteria and stains, but it should not be used on all surfaces. You should strictly avoid using it on natural stone, wood, or porous countertops, as the bleach will cause permanent discoloration.

The active whitening and disinfecting agent in this concentrated liquid formula is sodium hypochlorite, which is standard household bleach. It is specifically formulated to kill bacteria and whiten grout and tubs when diluted properly according to the product label.

You should dilute the concentrated formula with water, apply it directly to the tub or tile, and let it sit for a few minutes to disinfect the area. Afterward, scrub the surface with a sponge or brush and rinse it thoroughly with water to remove any chemical residue.

While it is incredibly effective at whitening hard surfaces like porcelain and ceramic tile, you should be cautious on fiberglass. Using an abrasive scrubbing pad combined with the harsh bleach formula can permanently scratch and dull a fiberglass shower pan.
